Rabbi Meir Elul (shlita) is a distinguished Torah authority and the revered posek (Torah scholar) of Nahar Torah. Born in Eretz Israel in 1970, he is also the Rosh Kolel of Yeshiva Heichal Hakodesh in Petach Tikvah, where he plays a key role in guiding the next generation of Torah scholars. Rabbi Elul’s journey in Torah learning began at Yeshiva Katana Purat Yosef, where he first developed a strong foundation in Torah study, and continued at Yeshiva Gedola Beit Shamaya, where he delved deeply into more advanced texts and teachings.
A devoted student of the legendary tzaddik and Torah genius, Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira, Rabbi Elul’s understanding of Torah is shaped by this profound relationship, which has greatly influenced both his scholarship and his spiritual approach. Rabbi Elul is known for his unwavering dedication to Torah study and his commitment to living a life of holiness and integrity.
As a teacher, Rabbi Elul is passionate about sharing the wisdom of Torah with others, inspiring countless individuals to grow in their knowledge and spiritual practice. His shiurim (lectures) are highly respected for their clarity and insight, offering practical guidance for applying Torah teachings in daily life. Rabbi Elul’s influence extends far beyond his yeshiva, and his teachings continue to touch the lives of many.
Rabbi David Levy, born in the heart of Jerusalem, Israel, is a respected scholar and teacher with a rich background in Torah study and service. His journey in Torah began at Yeshiva Chorev, where he excelled both in Primary and High School, laying a strong foundation for his lifelong dedication to Jewish learning. Following his studies, Rabbi Levy proudly served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), where he gained invaluable life experiences that shaped his personal and spiritual growth.
After completing his military service, Rabbi Levy continued to deepen his Torah knowledge, earning his smicha (rabbinical ordination) in Yoreh Yore in 2011. In 2020, he expanded his expertise by successfully completing his smicha in Marot, specializing in the laws of Family Purity, a vital and intricate area of Jewish law.
Today, Rabbi Levy resides in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he lives with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren. His warmth and dedication to Torah continue to inspire his community, as he serves as both a spiritual guide and a loving family man.
Torah educator and scholar. He graduated from Hirsch Lyons High School in 2004 and, in 2005, joined the Yeshiva Gedolah of Johannesburg, where he immersed himself in intensive Torah study. In 2012, Rabbi Chiger earned his smicha (Rabbinic ordination) from Yeshiva Gedolah of Johannesburg, while simultaneously pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree through UNISA via correspondence, balancing his academic and religious commitments with remarkable dedication.
Rabbi Chiger’s passion for teaching led him to Hirsch Lyons Primary School, where he taught Chumash with Rashi to multiple classes from 2012 to 2018. His engaging and dynamic approach to teaching inspired students of all backgrounds, leaving a lasting impact on the school community. Rabbi Chiger’s ability to connect with his students and convey complex ideas in an accessible way made him a beloved and respected figure at the school.
